Hello my name is Suzanne Keene. I am currently a stay at home mother of a 13 year old girl, a 10 year old boy and a 1 year old boy. Before having children I graduated from Radford University with an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education (K-5) with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Studies. I also graduated Cum Lade from Old Dominion University with a Masters Degree in Special Education (K-12). I am certified to teach any behavioral, emotional and intellectual disability.
Experience
Over the years, I have taught a total of 9 years, but I have been in the field of education a total of 12 years. Fortunately I have had the opportunity to teach many different kinds of learners. I have taught many children with specific learning disabilities. However, my specialty has been with children who have been diagnosed with Autism or who fall somewhere on the spectrum, behavioral and emotional disorders including students with ADD and ADHD. While teaching these students, I have also had the opportunity to attend wide range of conferences and workshops that focused on children who have specific learning disabilities. In addition to this, I took courses such as an Introduction to Autism and students who have been diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorders and Language Disorders. These courses, conferences, workshops and hands on training, taught me how to assess behaviors, collect data, create and execute behavior intervention plans, while providing the student with their individualized curricular to meet their specific learning needs. I have also tutored a wide variety of learners over the years.

Hobbies
I enjoy doing a variety of activities, especially outside. I enjoy going to the beach with my family and friends, playing corn hole, riding my bike, dancing, basketball and volleyball. I especially enjoy photography. I take pictures of mostly my children and unique scenery in natural settings. I also like to spend time going for boat rides and fishing.
